Donate TodayIgnite Adaptive Sports is a non-profit 501c3 organization that has been providing therapeutic recreational opportunities for people with disabilities at Eldora Mountain Resort since 1975.

Our highly trained and passionate volunteers love helping others learn how to downhill ski, cross-country ski, snowboard and snowshoe.

Students come to Ignite from all walks of life, with varying cognitive and physical disabilities, and they inspire us every day on the mountain with their courage and strength.

“It’s challenging to learn how to ski in an entirely different way, but all of the instructors I work with are so supportive. It’s amazing that I actually get to return to one of my passions in life.”

Communities We Serve

Ignite’s location, just 21 miles west of Boulder, provides easy access for the disabled community from Boulder County, Fort Collins and the surrounding Front Range areas. Having an adaptive ski program close to home is important for many students who can not travel long distances due to disabilities. Eldora Mountain Resort is the only ski area accessible by RTD public transportation, allowing non-driving individuals the chance to ride up on the bus and still take part in lessons. Our program is also able to reach local wounded US military veterans living within the Front Range and as far north as Cheyenne, WY.

We Do Not Turn Anyone Away

It is our belief that every person should be able to enjoy winter sports regardless of a disability or ability to pay. Having highly trained instructors and adaptive equipment on hand, we provide individualized instruction to a wide variety of students with varied needs. We also understand that there are many costs involved with ongoing care of a disability, so we make it a priority to keep our lesson rates affordable and to provide scholarships if needed.

Countless hours donated by our volunteers and generous support from Eldora Mountain Resort make Ignite possible, but we can not maintain our program and scholarship fund without donations from individuals like you.
